Marty Deitch began his professional career working in aerospace where he supported the development of liquid propelled rocket engines. He spent the next 42 years working for IBM as technical support for mainframe sales. During that time, he held numerous titles, including consulting systems engineer and certified large systems sales specialist, and specialized in mainframe performance management and capacity planning. He has presented at numerous IBM and customer education events, and has authored several capacity planning tools. These include the Tivoli Performance Modeler for z/OS (zTPM) and the Server Utilization Resource Facility (SURF) tool. He currently works for Vicom Infinity, an IBM Business Partner, as director of Capacity Planning and Performance Analysis.
