When executives hear the term “Business Continuity,” they tend to think about disaster recovery. But IT professionals know full well that a comprehensive Business Continuity strategy encompasses much more than an effective disaster recovery component.

When changes are made to any of the other components of the IT infrastructure, operations must be updated to ensure business continuity and access to data. 

If any of the above components fails or degrades, the business process suffers potentially critical consequences. That’s why any discussion of Business Continuity quickly escalates beyond the topic of disaster recovery.
